Starting with a large dish for the base, glue a connector to the centre (or two, or three connectors spaced apart)
When the glue has set, place a column onto the connector (no glue required).
Place a connector into the top of the column (no glue)
Glue a smaller dish to the top of the connector.
Try a 15" dish with three columns of different heights......
Seal the column with silcone sealant to fill with coloured water.....
Before fitting the top saucer, cram the clear column with coloured gravel, or jelly-beans.....
Wrap colured wire around the column in a spiral, and fill the inside with beads.....
Fill the lower dish with flowers, fruit, pebbles or gravel, to hide the mechanics.....
